Legal
Terms of Service
Last updated: June 16, 2026
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you (or the organisation you represent) and Squrtech ("Squrtech", "we", "us", or "our"), a proprietary firm owned and operated in India. Squrtech operates ParseAI, a document intelligence platform available at parseai.org and platform.parseai.org (collectively, the "Service").
By creating an account or using the Service in any manner, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
These Terms are governed by the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 (to the extent applicable), and other applicable laws of India.
2. The Service
ParseAI is a document intelligence API and platform that extracts structured data from uploaded documents (PDF, JPEG, PNG) based on extraction schemas you define. The Service is intended for use by developers, businesses, and individuals who need to automate document processing and data extraction workflows.
The Service includes:
- A web platform (platform.parseai.org) for managing folders, schemas, documents, API keys, team members, and billing
- A REST API for programmatic document upload, processing, and output retrieval
- An organisation and team management system with role-based access control
- A billing system with pay-as-you-go page credits and GST invoicing
We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. For planned changes that materially affect functionality, we will provide reasonable notice. We will not be liable for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.
3. Account Registration and Organisations
To use ParseAI you must create an account by signing in via Google OAuth. Upon first sign-in, you will be prompted to create an Organisation, a workspace that contains your folders, documents, API keys, team members, and billing balance.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration and organisation setup
- Keep your account credentials and API keys secure and confidential
- Not share your account with others or allow unauthorised access to your organisation
- Notify us immediately at sales@squrtech.com if you suspect unauthorised access to your account or API keys
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and organisation
- Ensure that all team members you invite to your organisation comply with these Terms
Each Organisation is an isolated workspace. You may invite other users to join your organisation and assign them roles (Admin or Member). The person who creates the organisation is the Owner. Ownership is not transferable except at Squrtech's discretion.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or are used for fraudulent, abusive, or illegal purposes.
4. API Keys
API keys are credentials that grant programmatic access to the Service on behalf of your organisation. You are solely responsible for keeping your API keys secure.
- Do not embed API keys in client-side code, public repositories, or any publicly accessible location
- Do not share API keys with third parties who are not authorised members of your organisation
- Rotate API keys regularly as a security best practice
- Revoke compromised API keys immediately from the dashboard and generate replacements
All API usage charged to an API key is charged to your organisation's page balance. We are not liable for any charges, data exposure, or damages resulting from unauthorised use of your API keys.
API keys are stored as one-way SHA-256 hashes. The plaintext key is displayed only once at creation. If you lose an API key, you must revoke it and create a new one, so we cannot recover or display the original key.
5. Document Processing and Folders
The core function of ParseAI is to extract structured data from documents you upload, based on extraction schemas you define in Folders.
Folders and schemas: You organise your processing workflows into Folders, each with its own extraction schema (field definitions and instructions). Schemas define what data to extract and in what format. Schemas are retained as long as your account is active.
Document upload: You may upload documents up to 50 MB per file in PDF, JPEG, or PNG format. Each document is processed against the schema of the folder it is uploaded to.
Processing: Documents are processed using Sarvam AI, an India-based AI infrastructure provider. All document data is processed and stored within India, ensuring 100% data residency within the territory of India. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of extracted output. You are responsible for verifying extracted data before using it in critical decisions or workflows.
Retries: If processing fails, you may retry at no additional cost. Pages are only deducted for successful processing.
6. Document Data and 30-Day Deletion
All documents you upload, all parsed text, and all extracted JSON output are automatically and permanently deleted from our systems 30 days after the time of upload. This is a hard, irreversible system-level deletion.
It is your sole responsibility to retrieve and save your extracted output before the 30-day window closes. We will not recover expired documents or output under any circumstances, regardless of technical failure, network issues, or other causes.
The 30-day window begins at the time of upload, not at the time processing completes. If you need the data after expiry, you must re-upload the document and process it again. Re-processing consumes additional pages from your balance.
This deletion policy applies to all documents regardless of processing status (completed, failed, or in-progress). Billing records, usage statistics, transaction history, tax invoices, and account metadata are not subject to this deletion policy and are retained as described in our Privacy Policy.
7. Acceptable Use
You may use ParseAI only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms. You must not:
- Upload documents you do not have the legal right to process
- Use the Service to process personal data of individuals without a lawful basis under applicable data protection law
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our underlying models, algorithms, or system prompts
- Use the Service to build a substantially similar or competing product
- Conduct automated attacks, excessive scraping, denial-of-service attempts, or abuse the API beyond normal usage patterns
- Upload malicious files, malware, executable code, or content designed to harm our systems or other users
- Circumvent any rate limits, access controls, billing mechanisms, or security measures
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose under Indian law or any applicable international law
- Impersonate another person or organisation, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
- Allow minors under 18 years of age to create accounts or use the Service
We reserve the right to suspend access immediately and without prior notice if we determine that your use violates these Terms, poses a risk to our systems or other users, or is required by law.
8. Billing and Payments
Pay-as-you-go: Pages are purchased in advance by topping up your organisation's balance. The current rate per page is agreed upon with the Squrtech team and displayed in the billing section of your dashboard. Pricing may change with 30 days' advance notice to registered users.
Page deductions: Pages are deducted from your balance when a document is successfully processed. The number of pages deducted equals the number of pages in the document. Processing that results in an error does not consume pages.
Insufficient balance: If your page balance reaches zero, new document uploads will be rejected with an error. Documents already in the processing queue will be completed. You must top up your balance to resume uploads.
GST: All prices are exclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST). 18% GST is applied to all transactions in accordance with Indian tax law. A GST invoice (with HSN/SAC code) is generated and emailed to your registered email address for every successful payment.
Payments: All payments are processed by Razorpay Financial Solutions Private Limited. By making a payment you also agree to Razorpay's terms of service and privacy policy. Card and bank details are handled exclusively by Razorpay and are never stored on Squrtech's servers.
No refunds: All payments are final and non-refundable under any circumstances. This includes unused page balance, partially consumed top-ups, and balance remaining at the time of account closure. By making a payment you acknowledge and agree to this no-refund policy.
Billing records: All billing records, transaction history, and tax invoices are retained for a minimum of 7 years as required under Indian accounting and tax laws.
9. Teams and Multi-Tenancy
ParseAI is a multi-tenant platform. Each organisation's data, documents, folders, schemas, API keys, billing, and team members, are logically isolated and inaccessible to other organisations. No user or API key from one organisation can access data belonging to another.
Organisation owners may invite additional users to their organisation by email. Invited users may be assigned the role of Admin or Member:
- Owner: full access to all features including billing, team management, and account deletion
- Admin: full access to folders, documents, API keys, and team management, but not billing or account deletion
- Member: access to folders and documents; cannot manage API keys, team members, or billing
Invite links are valid for 7 days. You are responsible for the actions of all users within your organisation. You may remove team members at any time from the team management page.
10. Intellectual Property
ParseAI, its underlying technology, models, platform, branding, trademarks, and all content on parseai.org are owned by or licensed to Squrtech and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership interest in the Service or Squrtech's intellectual property.
You retain full ownership of all documents you upload and all extracted output generated from your documents. By uploading documents, you grant Squrtech a limited, temporary, non-exclusive licence to process and store them solely for the purpose of delivering the Service to you. This licence terminates when the document is deleted (within 30 days of upload).
Squrtech does not claim any ownership of or rights over the contents of your documents or your extracted output.
11. Aadhaar Data and PII Guardrails
ParseAI operates document processing workflows that may involve documents containing Aadhaar numbers (e.g. KYC forms, identity documents). Squrtech is not a UIDAI-licensed Requesting Entity and does not collect, store, or verify Aadhaar numbers on behalf of any individual or organisation.
Automatic Aadhaar redaction: As a protective measure, ParseAI automatically detects and masks Aadhaar numbers in all processing outputs. Detection uses the Verhoeff checksum algorithm (the same validation method used by UIDAI) to identify valid Aadhaar numbers with high precision. Detected numbers are masked to show only the last 4 digits (e.g. XXXX XXXX 1234) in all stored outputs, including parsed text, extracted JSON, and page metadata used for document previews.
Visual redaction: In the platform's document viewer, regions of the document image containing a detected Aadhaar number are covered with a visual block, preventing the number from being viewed in the interface.
Your responsibility: You must not use ParseAI to collect, store, or transmit Aadhaar numbers in violation of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Services) Act, 2016 or applicable UIDAI regulations. If your use case requires processing Aadhaar-linked documents, you are responsible for ensuring you have the appropriate legal basis and authorisation under the Aadhaar Act. ParseAI's automatic masking is a safeguard and does not constitute compliance on your behalf.
12. Data Processing and Privacy
You are the data controller for any personal data contained in documents you upload. Squrtech acts as a data processor on your behalf, processing documents only as instructed through your API calls and schema definitions. ParseAI operates as a stateless processor: it does not retain, index, or accumulate personal data across requests. All document data is purged within 30 days as described in Section 6.
You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis (under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, or other applicable law) to process any personal data in the documents you submit to ParseAI. You are also responsible for informing the individuals whose data you process that it is being handled by a third-party processor.
Our collection and use of information about you (as opposed to data in your documents) is described in our Privacy Policy at parseai.org/privacy. By using the Service, you agree to our Privacy Policy.
13. Service Availability and SLA
We aim to provide a reliable, high-availability service but do not guarantee 100% uptime. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We will make reasonable efforts to notify users of planned maintenance windows in advance.
Processing times depend on document complexity, file size, the number of fields in your schema, and the availability of third-party APIs (including Sarvam AI). We do not guarantee specific processing turnaround times.
We are not liable for downtime, delays, or errors caused by third-party services, including but not limited to Sarvam AI, Razorpay, Google OAuth, or cloud infrastructure providers.
14. Disclaimer of Warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and accuracy of results.
Squrtech does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components, or that extracted output will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular use. You use the Service entirely at your own risk.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Squrtech shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, loss of business, or loss of profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of or inability to use the Service.
Squrtech's total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid Squrtech in the three (3) calendar months immediately preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
These limitations apply regardless of the form of action (contract, tort, negligence, or otherwise) and even if Squrtech has been advised of the possibility of such damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, in which case those limitations shall apply only to the extent permitted by law.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Squrtech, its proprietor, employees, contractors, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or relating to:
- Your use of or access to the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your infringement of any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or other rights
- The content of documents you upload or output you use
- Your failure to comply with applicable data protection laws in relation to the personal data in your documents
17. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting us at sales@squrtech.com. Upon account closure, your organisation data (folders, schemas, API keys, team configuration) will be deleted. Any documents still within their 30-day window will be deleted immediately. Billing records, transaction history, and tax invoices will be retained for 7 years as required by law.
Any unused paid page balance at the time of account closure is non-refundable.
Squrtech may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent or abusive activity, if required by law or court order, or if continuing to provide the Service would expose Squrtech to legal liability. In cases not involving misconduct, we will attempt to provide at least 7 days' notice.
Upon termination by either party, all provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive will survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, and limitations of liability.
18. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
Before initiating any formal legal proceeding, you agree to first attempt to resolve the dispute informally by writing to us at sales@squrtech.com with a description of your complaint. We will make reasonable efforts to resolve the dispute within 30 days of receiving your notice.
19. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the Service, applicable law, or our business practices. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
For material changes that affect your rights or obligations, we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the changes take effect. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
